Pongolicious earrings feature a handsome male orangutan face on a guitar pick. He is joined by an amber faceted glass rondelle bead.
This “double-decker” guitar pick sports a shiny jet black background with a very attractive male orangutan. To finish the piece are light amber faceted glass rondelles with an aurora borealis (AB) finish and black glass seed beads. The ear wires are gold-plated. Please note: the orangutan picture is only on one side of the pick.
Did you know the orangutan is scientifically classified in the genus Pongo? Because this guy is so good-looking, I decided to name him Pongolicious.
Aurora borealis (AB), is a bead treatment inspired by the Northern Lights. It is a coating (usually on one side) applied to glass beads that creates an iridescent or rainbow effect. Swarovski invented this effect in 1955, in partnership with Christian Dior.
